Black and White Irish Cow Portrait

12" by 12" on wrap around canvas with sides painted. Well, Andrew just had his first time out driving alone as a licenced driver. I did pretty well but did breathe a bit easier when I heard him come through the door! He drove to soccer practice and went through Wendy's on the way home. I still remember my first time out on my own...such a thrilling sense of freedom. Somewhere along the way I lost the thrill of driving. My boys like that because I often let them do the driving when we are together. It was another busy day of painting and correspondence and running errands. I worked on two other pieces that I will be posting tomorrow night. I have been very drawn to the beach as a subject lately...must be since I have not been yet this year. That is a crime when you think about it. I only live 25 miles from it! My brushes are calling to me to be cleaned and put away. Till we meet again, I will leave you with this thought! Cutie Rooster Steppin' Out

5" by 7" original oil on clayboard.
Today was super busy and very productive. Andrew finally got his licence after a paperwork glitch at his school that delayed him a couple of weeks. He is one happy camper. He is enjoying his last week before school starts with time at his friend's pools and video game tournaments and I am also getting some last minute chores out of him while I can! Tonight we had a meeting at Olde Towne Art Studios which was great with all kinds of things on the calender. Hope you'll join us for First Friday in Portsmouth which runs from 5 to 9. We'll be having an auction of original art by many of the artists who share studio space there. Bailee has been a bit lost without her partner in crime, Brewsky. I took her on a long walk this morning and have been giving her extra treats to console her. I did notice a big geyser in my back yard and found a big sprinkler head that Brewsky had "removed" and brought into the house! Guess he let that sprikler know who was boss! Have a nice Tuesday and hope you'll check in with me again soon! Click to Bid!

Cedar Waxwing Bird Art

6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.
Today was all about birds. I listed two this evening...the other is a robin the same size. They would make nice companion pieces. I haven't blogged the past two days because I have been busy reorganizing my studio and taking some "me' time. I feel so refreshed and looking forward to the week. The weather is been so beautiful! I went for a long bike ride this morning and the clouds were so tall and billowy! I almost ran into the curb looking up at them but it was a great "in the moment" experience. There was a wonderful breeze with all the smells and sounds of summer. Life is good! Hope your weekend was resful and restorative. Oh, I got a new upgraded phone that has a keyboard on it. It has a key lock and you have to push OK twice before you can dial. That has been a challenge but today my son called and told me I had just called me. How ironic. That never happened with my last phone that didn't have that feature! It happened in my pocket. I do like it as soon as I learn all about it. It also has a two megapixel camera for taking lots of good reference photos. Have a great Monday!

White Irish Horned Cow

White Horned Irish Cow Nears
6" by 6" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with 1 and a half inch sides painted.
Why did the cow wear a bell around her neck? Because her horn didn't work....:-) Not sure who the author of this joke is but I am guilty of repeating it! Today's cow has horns and I am told that most start out with them but farmer's cut them off. This one was spared that! I painted this one with lots of paint and in a couple of layers which gives it alot of great texture. She seems very skeptical!
As usual this week is flying by! I guess that is a good thing. I am definitely not bored! Hope your week is going well. Thanks for checking in... Click to Bid!

Sea Birds At The Beach

Sandpiper At The Beach
9' by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.
This past week I have listed several pieces at .99 cent starting bids! There is no reserve!
I love these little birds when I go for walks here in Virginia Beach. They scamper about at such speed scavenging what the surf has just brough in....no need for aerobics classes when you work so hard for your food! Hope you were out enjoying your weekend and taking in some of the wonderful sunshine. I lived vicariously today by painting this bird. I could see the sun hitting the surf and hear the sounds of the ocean. I am looking so forward to going to Chincoteague in September for our annual paint out. A group of us go for the weekend and paint the local scenery and then enter our paintings into the show on Saturday night. Chincoteague has retained much of its small town feel and is known for the wild ponies that live there. I am sure I will be painting some horses and marsh scenes. I also love to go to the beach there and potograph pictures of the children playing in the surf. Thank you to all of you for visiting my blog and to all of my collectors! Click to Bid!

Irish Kerry Cow By The Sea

9" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend. Mine was spent mostly in my studio but I did run a few errands and thought the weather was beautiful today. This evening we are getting an unexpected fireworks display right outside my studio window. Brewsky is pretty nervous about the whole thing and has been very attentive to me. I am getting sad at the prospect of he and Sean going back to college on Monday. Sean is very excited to have gotten a car which he has been without for quite some time. He and Brewsky will get to both drive back in the front seat! Well, maybe Brewsky will be set up on a bed in the back after a bit. He has really filled out this summer and is quite a big guy. He still has moments when he thinks he is a lap dog though! Andrew gets his licence next week too. He will be learning from Tetra Brazil in a soccer camp so he is looking forward to a great week. It will be much quieter around here! Well, take care! Click to Bid!

Red Speckled Rooster Steps Out

Red Speckled Rooster Steppin' Out
12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.
This painting just shouts....rise and shine! I loved the colors of this rooster and all its colorful markings. It was a pleasure to paint and it makes me smile!
Brewsky, my grandpuppy, jumped up on me as I as working on my blog last night to give me a hug and I am now missing my H on my keyboard. Well, I have it....it's just no longer attached. :-0 In spite of all the chewed, broken, and missing food from this summer, I will miss him terribly when he and Sean go back to college. The leave on Tuesday next week. Bailee will miss him too. They have spent a lot of time wrestling with each other and just 'hangin out". It has been a busy week and tomorrow is my day to teach down at Harbor's Edge. I am going to make an omlet in the morning on my new GT Express that my Mom got me from an infomercial she was watching. She knows whatever I cook has to be quick AND easy. Well, take care and have an awesome Friday! It's the weekend!!!! Click to Bid!

Curious Cow Approaches

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.
NEVER KICK A COW CHIP ON A HOT DAY.  ~Proverb
This proverb made me giggle when I remembered my first visit to Ireland to visit with family when I was twelve years old. I was very much the city girl from Philadelphia. Communing with nature was feeding the pigeons outside my row house. I was so enchanted to follow my cousins through the wide open fields running and exploring and standing on the many rocks in the field and even hopping from one to another. My cousin had a look of mischief in his eyes and soon on one of those leaps, I felt my shoe mush into the "rock"....which wasn't a rock at all but a cow pattie. There was much laughter all around but I found myself being a bit more cautious after that! Apparently the farmers don't scoop up after the cows! Here's wishing you a week where you are able to avoid all the "patties". ;-) Click to Bid!

Sweet Little Wren In My Garden

Sweet Little Wren In My Garden
6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a great week. I have been having the best summer with my boys and animals and paint all over the place including my face and hair usually and sometimes even on the dogs. The other day I was vigorously shaking my jar of red paint when the top flew off and paint went everywhere....the carpet that used to be beige, the wicker chair, and tablecloth. My dream studio will eventually have a hard floor that can be wiped. Anyway, Brewsky was sharing in all the enthusiasm by standing close by with tail wagging and was caught in the crossfire. He had a small red patch for a few days until it wore off. It ia amazing how busy I have become with listing my paintings on eBay, working on commissions, and teaching. I love every minute of it and work every day to be more organized and efficient. It is definitely a work in progress. Thanks so much for all the wonderful e-mails, phone calls, and encouragement! Western Bluebird In My Garden

6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted. Hope your week is going well. Thankfully I have been busy painting and shipping paintings to new homes! Click to Bid!
